Here’s how it started:
Fanbase as of March 2023
When I first came to FFWD, their “fanbase” page was my first issue with the mobile app. With outdated graphics and a static design (that failed to showcase the apps key video-first feature) I set out to re-design keeping key features (and more modern principals) in mind.

Fanbase as of October 2023
I re-designed the app’s fanbase to be dynamic. In this design, as the user scrolled down, the videos would launch a preview (one at a time) of an admirer’s video profile, showing the person behind the picture off the bat. I included a premium toggle button up top to drive conversion. I was able to oversee the implementation of this design with our software developer, and immediately saw an uptick in user engagement.

Fanbase as of October 2024
The next iteration of fanbase saw a modernization of the “empty” fanbase, along with more motivational messaging. We included a user education panel in the upper right, explaining the page, as well as a team video (far right, “Hey You!” card) to educate users upon their initial arrival to the app.

Implementation of Monetization
Next on the horizon, we’re teeing up to implement our monetized features. Like other dating apps, we’ll stop making it possible to users to see all of their fans at once. The card on the left shows the premium experience — wherein users can see all their fans. The card on the right showcases the basic experience, as well as the CTA to upgrade.
